Howdy One and all .

I have been under the weather ,and while I was my domain name came up for renewal
and hubby bless his heart thought he would renew it for me ,
only thing is he forgot to tell me and he changed my password and other information .
It seems hubby wanted me to rest and not be bothered ???
Little did he know blogging is a life support for me .
Yes I got mad ,but it is not good to be mad
when he was doing his best
to help me rest :)
Anyway I'm here now and so thankful to discover I have a new follower as well as my awesome devoted friends who drop in and bless my socks off on a regular basis .
Thank you all so much for the love you share ,the support and comfort I receive from you is more
than I can ever repay !!!!

Now for an update .
My Mom's cancer has returned ,my Dad has heart surgery scheduled for the first week in April and
I am still not a 100% myself .
This hypertension stuff is hard to understand ,as well as the heart problems .
I have made many changes in diet,lifestyle etc.. and will continue too seek out the answers .
However with blogging friends and visitors I am sure I will overcome .
Thank you all so much for being here .
I look forward to blogging again .

Hi Y'all

Today is a bit on the cloudy ,windy ,trying to rain ,
but not quite certain sort of day.
In other words gloomy ,but it sent me looking
for something to do while being still .
I found some magazines I was saving for a garden scrapbook .
As a reminder to myself that sunny days will soon
be back again and so will my garden blooms :)
The birds have already started to migrate our way so it won't be long !
While looking through them I found a couple of thoughts to share.

Gardening is an exercise in Optimism.

Pearls and Clams

Recently I recived a wonderful card about pearls
from a fellow blogger :)
I also recieved a magazine from my son
that had an article about pearls.
A long story short .
I read the card ,read the article
and now I'd like to share what I learned.

Greeting Card

Once there was an oyster
who was going through
some "REALLY" irritating Stuff.
It made a pearl.
Then it made another.
By the time things got better,
The oyster had a necklace and
some very nice earrings !!!

What I learned
is a simple reminder that there is
a silver lining to the stuff life brings our way .
Lesson : this cowgirl will be wearing pearls one of these days :)

Seriously while we all go through stuff
sometimes we forget there is a reason
and in due season it will all turn out the way it is meant to .

Cowgirl Out Of Order

Happy Saturday Y'all

Yes it's true this old cowgirl is out of order and needs to be refreshed ,renewed ,and well just an old fashioned healing would do .

I hit a brick wall that I cannot bulldoze my way through .
It seems it's time for me to stop and really rest
to get a handle on my own health .
I had a close call last week with the reality of what
total exhaustion can do to one's body even if your a tough old bird .
So for now I am doing everything I can to better understand living with hypertension ,
a weak heart and a long list of other things .
This is not to seek out sympathy just a reminder
if and when you become a full time care giver don't lose track
of your own health along the way .
Please continue to be patient with me as I remain
a part time blogger for a wee bit longer.
A bit of good news is my Dad came through his surgery on Monday
and is back at home today .
Thank you for your continued prayers,and happy thoughts
they are truly a welcome part of my day.

Howdy Y'all

Here I am begging your pardon again after being away from blogland.
Life has been in a bit of a tailspin the past few weeks.
Family members sick ,some in the hospital ,work,life and so forth .
To top that off this past Monday I slipped and hit my head on the edge of the tub .
One emergency room visit and 18 stitches later I have been put on mandatory rest .
It's not like I don't need the rest,but gosh there are so many things to do for parents,family,work etc...
Yes I have come to the realization that if you don't rest you may find yourself
lying down in green pastures ,counting ceiling tiles,and many other truly boring activities .
For now I have made the choice to obey Doc's orders and get some much needed rest .
Please be patient with me as I slowly return to blogland .
Feel free to leave comments ,I don't do resting or boredom very well
so your comments are most wlecomed .

The Dark Room

Howdy Y'all

Until recently it had never really occurred to me
the power that negative thoughts can have when they go un-checked.
While growing up I had a really interesting cousin who was very industrious and
had a dark room in a one bathroom single wide trailer.
Yes He had a lot of siblings who did not share his passion for hogging the bathroom !
Mobil home we called them back in the day :)
Poor cousin was always looked down upon for his brainy hobbies and way of speaking .
The family became a little more tolerant of his time in the dark room as his talent became a bit more clear.
Not to say that he ever had it easy or that we really gave in ,but somewhere we reached a compromise .
His ability to take pictures and make copies for family,friends,school administration and so on
gave my dear cousin the opportunity to go to College and study Law.
His life goal was to become a Judge not a single one of us ever doubted that he would make it .
While this did not happen he did accomplish a lot in his life and I for one am very proud of him.
He was the first person to try to teach me about a positive attitude ,over a negative attitude toward life.
Thank you dear cousin for sharing this life altering information .
I only wish I could have understood your words much sooner .
It is never too late to learn something new blogger friends.
My prayer for all of you is that in 2012 you will embrace a new thought ,
a new way of looking at things and learn ,learn ,learn !!!!!!!!!
In order to grow as a person :)

This is a nod to my cousin Cheryl Lynn .
She is the one with the bat :)
I'm sorry that the image is not clear
but it is a scan of a copy sent to me
from a dear relative whom like myself is technology impaired ,
Yet loves the color blue ,
that should count for something .

Once upon a time long long ago there was a family that gathered rain or shine
every Sunday afternoon for some family fun.
Depending upon the time of year we played all manner of sports.
Rode horses,motorcycles,went fishing,picked fruit had picnics etc....
In our family the girls often out played the boys.
We were tough due to the fact there were always more girls than boys .
Had the boys out numbered the girls we might have played with dolls :)
Anyhoo this photo shows my dear cousin Cheryl Lynn and her love of Blue .
Until I began to look through old family photos this past week
I did not realize all the photos show Cheryl Lynn dressed in blue .
All year round she dressed in blue .
She is the daughter of the same precious aunt who traveled on a train ,
than a bus,later a taxi
with a larger than life Blue Huckleberry Hound to give to my son his first Christmas .
Yes I am from the south and we all have two first names .
We also have family nick names but that's another story .

It's time to ring in a New Year !
Time to make wishes ,set goals,and say prayers .
So from me to you happy 2012 .
May it be blessed and serve you well.
The year your heart is set free from fear of the unknown.
May you belly laugh out loud in front of total strangers as well as people you know. !
I wish you moments of outrageous joy that has no limits .
Enjoy each moment for what it is .
Add nothing ,delete nothing , enjoy life as it happens.
Yes there will be a mixture of happy ,sad and often ugly will rear its head ,
still embrace life and live it .
Remember when no matter how bad the news

Please join me as I say so long to 2011 and howdy to 2012 :)

2011 a month to month nutshell :)

January cold,raining,dreary ,family members in hospital way too often .

February snow in Texas really !
more family members ill .

March after many job interviews one calls back ,hubby and I excited !

April heat wave and drought kick in ,
Hubby starts new job only not where we were told :(
Back to a long commute for a family with one vehicle thus two hours drive time to schedule around.
Sweet Hubby works six days a week 12-14 hour shifts.
My Dad begins going to the V.A. twice weekly for medical needs,
mom is in remission ,things are moving forward.

May is hotter than normal ,hubby starts work closer to home only a half hour commute one way :)
Yeah drive time is now one hour round trip , Yippee .
My Dad's health begins to go down hill quickly,
so Dad must stop working altogether.

June,is really hot,even for us Texans .
July Hubby's new job comes to a sudden end on July 4th ! Yikes .

August more job interviews - doing our best to help parents make adjustments to living on social security ,while still dealing with overhead and medical expenses,time of stress for everyone.

September Hubby has new job 45 minutes one way - Labor Day through December become full time extended visits with parents .
I Miss working at Paplys Antique and gift shop,it's a long trip for hubby as parents don't live near us .
Thus hubby and son take me up and leave me ,than come back again as I need to come home for rest or catching up on things at home .
How do people run multiple households ?
Huge miracle happened Thanksgiving ,Hubby and son found a vehicle for parts like ours being towed to salvage yard,a few phone calls later it turns out it is in better condition than what we have ,so in the near future we will have two old suburbans to share :)
While this may not explain anything to anyone it is okay ,really too much to share without a three volume book !
Thank you and God bless you everyone who lifted me up ,prayed ,and continue to wait patiently for my return to blog land .
I truly miss my time visiting here and there to greet some of the most amazing people I have ever known !

Howdy Y'all

Oh my gosh can it really be December ?
I have been pulled in so many directions this past year
that time has just slipped right on by me.
I do hope to post some random thoughts
now and again .
Like I have any other kind of thoughts to share :)
Anyway I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has continued to send
warm happy thoughts my way .
They have truly been needed as well as appreciated !

Now for today's random thought :)
The loving spirit in your home depends more on the words you speak than the gifts you can give.
