Books
Howdy Y'all
I just realized that one of the many joys
September holds for me are the annual book sales.
In Texas September ushers in the annual Friends of the Library Sales .
These can be found all across the state from one small town to another .
They are such great fun and serve a worthwhile purpose.
I come from a long line of book lovers and library volunteers .
Should you ever find yourself bored and have the ability become a volunteer and help others.
Happy reading y'all.
Reading
By: Patience Strong
A book's a good companion for dark days
or for bright. It speeds Time's leaden footsteps
and puts our cares to flight.
A book's a friend and solace when other friends
have passed. Your favorite book will cheer you
and charm you to the last.
Though other pleasures vanish ,
the joy of this remains.
The mind is led enchanted ,
down green and winding lanes.
Imagination lingers at inns of quietness,
and from their golden windows
the wide earth we possess.
Upon the printed pages in thought
we travel far, across the deepest ocean...
beyond the brightest star.
Until next time
Happy Trails

I get all my books at garage sales and always have several going at once. One by the bed, in the bathroom and by my chair in the family room. I love to read and always have as long as I can remember. I used to read when I couldn't read..I just made up my own stories and dreamed of the day I could understand what all that print said.
First real book was other then comic books was "When Esther Was A Little Girl"...then came "Beautiful Joe" and "Lad A Dog"...
I do so love books.
Love,
Mona

We love book sales too, and usually go to the twice a year library used book sales, the books are about 75 cents each (it is by the pound).
